Please join Generation Obama-Washington, DC & Network For Progress will officially kickoff their grassroots partnership with the Woman’s National Democratic Club at their beautiful Dupont Circle mansion for a mixer and watch party for the 1st Presidential Debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney on the topic of Domestic Policy. We will be joined by Progressive Communicators of DC (pcdcnetwork.org) and Gertrude Stein Democratic Club (steindemocrats.org) and UniteWomenDC (unitewomen.org).
The event will feature a 6:30pm PROGRESS MEETUP with Virginia congressional candidate Kristin Cabral (VA-10 Fairfax/Loudon/Prince William) who is running a grassroots campaign to defeat 32-year incumbent Frank Wolf. in one of the hottest districts in the country for Presidential and Senate races because of its growing “pro-democratic” population. Kristin stepped up to take on her opponent when no one else would and despite the obstacles is gaining steam as President Obama and Senate candidate Tim Kaine gain in the polls so a woman running against an anti-woman candidate who has never been challenged on his growingly extreme views could boost turnout among women to help the entire ticket.
Kristin and her Campaign Manager Sean Maloy will discuss the campaign and host a discussion of how to best engage voters successfully down the stretch so if you have any thoughts on how campaigns SHOULD be doing things this is your time to be heard and show how YOU can help. Follow up discussions about field, fundraising, outreach and new media will be encouraged.

*ABOUT NETWORK FOR PROGRESS
As of February 10, 2011, the fourth anniversary of the Obama For America campaign, Network For Progress will serve as an interactive and creative online/offline political, civic, professional and personally-enriching Community, Advocate & Resource for the lessons of the "Yes We Can" Movement of Hope and Change to expand on the work of Organizing For America with the Mainstream Majority of Americans (including Democrats, Progressives, Independents, Republicans and those in between comprising young people and many other under-served constituencies) that voted for President Obama in 2008.
Network For Progress will promote the use of 21st Century “bottom up” Communication, Outreach & Leadership/Development grassroots-organizing techniques for an honest dialogue to create the necessary Personal Relationships & Viral Buzz to build a Movement that is continually being revolutionized by the growth of Google, Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other networking tools but was under-utilized after Inauguration Day when the social, social media & Media vacuum of public discourse was filled by Tea Party/Fox News’ coordinated activism and only recently has been valiantly promoted by Jon Stewart’s quest for “Sanity.”
Network For Progress will provide a platform for supporters to become OUR own “Obama” who is empowered to bring PROGRESS to our professional and personal lives as well as our town, our state, our nation and our world as we approach 2012 and beyond.
“Network For Hope. Network For Change. Network For PROGRESS.”
